Marcos Dorado

Marcos Dorado is a full-time artist working in drawing and photography. His studio is in Fresno, CA, where he’s part of the renaissance of downtown.

He studied drawing at Art Students League of New York City, and at Grand Central Academy (NYC). He’s had numerous exhibits across the country. Recently, he exhibited at the National Museum of Mexican Art, Chicago, and the Fresno Art Museum. In addition, he’s been featured in American Artist Magazine and American Art Collector.

Marcos is working on two major projects. Immigrant Me is a documentary photography featuring the lives of naturalized Americans. In drawing, he’s working on Why I Got Naked (In the Words of the Models)…a series of life-size full-length nudes. He interviews each model about his/her inspiration for undressing for art. The work will be a book by Split Oak Press of New York. The portraits will exhibit in 2021.

When Marcos is not creating art, he enjoys exercise and travel with his girlfriend, Lupe López, who often models for him.

If I had to assign a label to my work, it would be social realism.
